The CQC must be renewed every five years with the compulsory attendance of a periodic training course that allows CQC holders to perfect the essential knowledge for the performance of their duties as a driver.

The course for the renewal of the CQC can be done:

• eighteen months before the deadline: you can continue to professionally drive vehicles for the transport of people or things;

• after the deadline but within two years of the deadline: it is not possible to professionally drive vehicles for the transport of people or things until the renewal has taken place;

• over two years from the deadline by also taking the restoration exam : professional driving of vehicles for the transport of people or things is precluded until the exam.

At the end of the periodic training course, students are given a certificate of attendance with which they must ask for a duplicate license to update the expiry date of the CQC shown on the license itself.
